SIP SLB for a SIP media session
1
The start_port_number variable is the start port number for the media range.
The end_port_number variable is the end port number for the media range.
Configuration Examples
Example Configuration 1
Define a SIP port with the media range:
ServerIronADX(config)# real-server rs1
ServerIronADX(config-real-server-rs1)# port sip media-range 10000 to 11000
If the real server SIP port is bound to virtual server, then the ServerIron ADX creates a
persisted session and displays the following message:
SIP media range is enabled now on rs1. The RTP sessions will be created in the
port range specified from 10000 to 11000
If the real server SIP port is not bound to any virtual server, the ServerIron ADX creates a
persisted session but displays a message at a later time when virtual server is bound.
Example Configuration 2
Update a previously-defined media range.
ServerIronADX(config)# real-server rs1
ServerIronADX(config-real-server-rs1)# port sip media-range 20000 to 21000
If the real server SIP port is bound to the virtual server, then the ServerIron ADX deletes the old
media range, creates a new one and displays the following messages:
SIP media range is disabled now on rs1. The RTP sessions will not be created in
the port range specified from 10000 to 11000.
SIP media range is enabled now on rs1. The RTP sessions will be created in the
port range specified from 20000 to 21000.
If the real server SIP port is not bound to any virtual server, the ServerIron ADX creates a
persisted session but displays a message at a later time when the virtual server is bound.
Example Configuration 3
Delete the current SIP port media range.
ServerIronADX(config)# real-server rs1
ServerIronADX(config-real-server-rs1)# no port sip media-range 20000 to 21000
If the real server SIP port is bound to the virtual server, the ServerIron ADX deletes the media
range.
Example Configuration 4
Unbind the SIP server when the port media range is enabled on a real server.
ServerIronADX(config)# real-server rs1
ServerIronADX(config-real-server-rs1)# no bind sip rs1 sip
The ServerIron ADX deletes the old range and displays the following message:
SIP media range is disabled now on rs1. The RTP sessions will be created in the
port range specified from 20000 to 21000.
