Upgrading Software Images and Configuration Files
Software images
The images required to operate a NetIron CES or NetIron CER 2000 Series device are described in
Table 13.
Images and procedures required
The software images required and the procedures for upgrading have been changed as described
in the following sections:
• “Description of the software images required” – This sub-section describes each of the images
required to operate a NetIron CES and NetIron CER 2000 Series device.
• “Upgrade options” – This sub-section describes the procedures required for your software
upgrade depending upon the version you are upgrading from or to. Links are provided to the
required procedures as required.
• “Displaying flash memory and version information” – This sub-section describes the
commands that allow you to determine the contents of the NetIron CES and NetIron CER 2000
Series device’s flash memory and how to read the output of those commands.
• “Backing up the current software images” - This sub-section describes the software backup
procedure.
• “Virtual interface module” - This sub-section describes how to open an rconsole session with
the virtual interface module.
