Brocade ICX 6650 maintenance
The Brocade ICX 6650 is designed for high availability and low failure; it does not require any regular
physical maintenance. Supported transceivers and diagnostic tests are described in the following
sections.
Diagnostic tests and monitoring
Brocade FastIron software includes diagnostic tests to help you troubleshoot the hardware. System
diagnostic software is designed to fulfill the purpose of offline diagnostics. In offline diagnostics, you
must turn on or off the diagnostic flags to execute diagnostic tests during the next bootup.
The CLI commands for system diagnostic tests are dm diag and dm alt-diag. These diagnostic tests
verify all available hardware components including:
I2C devices
EEPROMS
CPU packet
Test MAC alignment
Line rate
During system diagnostic testing, the system is completely under the control of the diagnostic software.
All hardware components are verified, and results are displayed on the console. In cases where a
