NOTE
The system activates as many PoE+ ports as the 52- 54-volt PoE power supplies can handle.
The system calculates the maximum number of PoE+ ports it can support based on the
number of PoE+ power supplies installed. PoE+ ports are enabled based on their priority
settings. The system reserves the maximum configured power per PoE+ enabled port, even if
the PoE+ power-consuming device is drawing less power.
CAUTION
The PoE+ power supply is designed exclusively for use with the FastIron X Series PoE+ chassis
devices. The power supply produces extensive power to support 802.3at applications. Installing
the power supply in a device other than the FastIron X Series PoE device will cause extensive
damage to your equipment.
All power supplies are auto-sensing and auto-switching.
Power supplies are installed in the slots along the bottom of the device.
In FSX 800 devices, the 12-volt (system) power supplies occupy slot numbers 3 and 4 on the right,
with the redundant supply in slot 4. PoE power supplies occupy slot numbers 1 and 2 on the left.
Figure 20 shows power supply placement.

8 in the bottom row. Figure 21 shows power supply placement.
