Verifying proper operation
This section describes how to verify proper operation of the ServerIron ADX chassis after power on:
• “Observing the LEDs - ServerIron ADX 1000 and ServerIron ADX 1000F”
• “Matching LEDs to locations on the ServerIron ADX 1000 and ServerIron ADX 1000F”
• “Observing the LEDs - ServerIron ADX chassis devices”
• “Matching LEDs to locations on ServerIron ADX chassis device modules”
Observing the LEDs - ServerIron ADX 1000 and
ServerIron ADX 1000F
Table 2 outlines the LEDs for the ServerIron ADX 1000, including possible states and meanings.
If a problem persists after taking action described in this table, contact Brocade technical support.

LED State Meaning
1G Interface Ports
On A link is established with the remote port (no traffic).
NOTE: There is one LED per port. Refer to “Matching LEDs to locations on the ServerIron
ADX 1000 and ServerIron ADX 1000F” on page 52 for information on matching
each LED to the correct port.
Blinking The port is transmitting and receiving packets.
Off A link is not established with the remote port and no traffic is being transmitted or
received.
10G Interface Ports (ServerIron ADX 1000F only)
On A link is established with the remote port (no traffic).
There is one LED per port. Refer to “Matching LEDs to locations on the ServerIron ADX
1000 and ServerIron ADX 1000F” on page 52 for information on matching each LED to
the correct port.
Blinking The port is transmitting and receiving packets.
Off A link is not established with the remote port and no traffic is being transmitted or
received.
10G Interface Ports (ServerIron ADX 1000 only)
Link Solid green A link is established with the remote port.
Off A link is not established with the remote port.
Act Blinking green A link is established with the remote port and traffic is being passed on the port.
Off for an extended period A link is not established with the remote port or traffic is not being passed on the port.
Barrel Processors (BPs)
In 1 Blinking Packets are currently being received on BP1.
Off No packets are currently being received on BP1.
In 2 Blinking Packets are currently being received on BP2.
Off No packets are currently being received on BP2.
