Uninstalling an Application Switch module
When removing an Application Switch Module (ASM) from a ServerIron 4000, ServerIron 8000 or
ServerIron 10000 you should perform the following actions in the order shown:
1. Execute the disable module command for the ASM being removed to allow the system to
gracefully shutdown functions that are related to the ASM before physically removing it.
2. Physically remove the module from the chassis.
3. If you execute the disable module command for a module but do not physically remove it from
the chassis you can only bring it back on-line by rebooting the system.
NOTE
Removing or disabling an ASM module from an operating ServerIron ADX chassis will affect all traffic
that is moving through that module.
