ServerIron ADX chassis devices

ServerIron ADX 1000F

Figure 2 shows the ServerIron ADX 1000F chassis for each model.

ServerIron ADX 1000F is shipped in one of these standard configurations:

• 8 x 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet copper ports, 8 x 1 Gigabit Ethernet Fiber SFP ports with 1

application core, 1 AC Power Supply

• 8 x 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet copper ports, 8 x 1 Gigabit Ethernet Fiber SFP ports with 1

application core, 1 DC Power Supply

• 8 x 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet copper ports, 16 x 1 Gigabit Ethernet Fiber SFP ports with 2

application cores, 1 AC Power Supply

• 8 x 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet copper ports, 16 x 1 Gigabit Ethernet Fiber SFP ports with 4

application cores, 1 AC Power Supply

• 8 x 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet copper ports, 16 x 1 Gigabit Ethernet Fiber SFP ports, 2 10

Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ with 4 application cores, 1 AC Power Supply

Each of these configurations corresponds to a license. ServerIron ADX 1000F provides the ability

for On-Demand Upgrades, which allows you to upgrade the features from any of the standard

configurations to the more advanced configurations. You need to upgrade by purchasing a license

to enable more ServerIron ADX 1000 features.

ServerIron ADX 1000F basics (all models):

• 1 RU form factor

• Two hot-pluggable AC or DC power supplies (one+one redundant)

By default, the system ships with one power supply.

• One hot-pluggable fan tray

• Front-to-back air cooling

• Optics modules (SFP and SFP+) are not included with any model

• None of the ServerIron ADX 1000F models include SSL acceleration

ServerIron ADX chassis devices

This section describes the ServerIron ADX 4000 and ServerIron ADX 10000 chassis devices. The

ServerIron ADX 10000 chassis devices replace the ServerIron ADX 8000 chassis devices. The

ServerIron ADX 8000 chassis devices are no longer available for purchase. The ServerIron ADX

8000 chassis is still supported by Brocade and is described in Appendix B, “ServerIron ADX 8000”.
