3. Then the “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Properties” dialog box appears, similar to
the one shown in Figure 3-8.
Select the option Obtain an IP address
automatically and Obtain DNS server
address automatically, and Click OK to
confirm the setting.
The “Local Area Connection Properties”
dialog box appears active again. Click
OK to close the dialog box.
4. At this time, Windows may prompt you to
reboot your computer to make the changes
taken effect. Click Yes to proceed with the
system reboot.
Your system is now ready to communicate with your BritePort 8120.
Important Note:
• To manually specify the IP address and Subnet Mask of your computer
Network Properties in order to access your BritePort 8120 web-based
configuration tool, please refer to Appendix B: Troubleshooting -- A.
Possible Problems for detail.
• Follow the instructions provided in this section to also set up all of your
network computers to obtain an IP address automatically for DSL connection
through your BritePort 8120. For instructions on setting up your network
computers for Static IP address, please refer to Appendix C: Frequently
Asked Questions.
