ADMS 44.22 Installation and Operation Manual
OPERATION
4 RS-232 Operation
4.1 Introduction
The ADMS 44.22 command set is based on the Broadcast Tools® ACS 8.2,
8 x 2 Matrix Audio Control Switcher command set. Many ACS 8.2 commands have
been preserved in the ADMS 44.22 to allow users to easily integrate the ADMS
44.22 into facilities that currently support ACS 8.2 remote control. ADMS 44.22
commands that are backwards–compatible with the ACS 8.2 command set are indi-
cated by the text “ACS 8.2” at the end of the command description.
4.2 Burst Mode Command Format
All ADMS 44.22 RS-232 Burst Mode command strings begin with an aster-
isk and end with a carriage return, according to the following structure:
* <UNIT ID><COMMAND><CR>
The <COMMAND> block generally consists of a one- to three-letter command
together with one or more arguments. Command letters can be either upper-or lower-
case. Spaces between characters a command string are not allowed. The following
table details the allowed values for all command arguments.
Allowed values for command-specific arguments are given in the description of the
individual commands.
The proceeding sections describe the <COMMAND> block of the command
string only. The asterisk, <UNIT ID>, and <CR> must be entered as described above
to execute the command. Exceptions to the format are noted in the descriptions for the
specific commands.
NOTE:
Users connecting the
ADMS 44.22 to an ACS
8.2 controller must
append all ACS 8.2 com-
mand strings with a car-
riage return to insure
backwards compatibility.
