WARNING! DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY can occur. Use only with children whose height is between 38 and 60 inches (97 and 152 cm). DO NOT use this booster seat without the backrest unless it is used in a seating position with a vehicle headrest. DO NOT use this booster seat as a backless booster unless proper vehiclebelt placement can be achieved. Use only the vehicle’s lap-and-shoulder-belt system when restraining a child in this booster seat.
WARNING! DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY can occur. Based on crash statistics, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recommends that parents select the rear seat as the safest location for a properly installed booster seat. Please study the section on Vehicle Safety Belts in this booklet to ensure the child’s safety. If in doubt about installing this booster seat, consult the vehicle owner’s manual.
Safety Information Important Notes • Children who weigh 40 pounds (18 kg) or less are best protected in a restraint with a five-point harness. Britax recommends that children remain in a restraint with a five-point harness until reaching the maximum weight or height allowed. • Set a good example by always wearing your seat belt. Make it a firm rule that the vehicle does not move until everyone is buckled up making no exceptions.
Vehicle Safety Vehicle Safety Belts IMPORTANT: Some vehicles have no seating positions compatible with this or any other booster seat. If in doubt, contact the vehicle manufacturer for assistance. To protect your child in a crash, you must use this booster seat with vehicle safety belts that are compatible. This booster seat can only be used with three-point (shoulder-and-lap) safety belts that are not motorized or anchored on the vehicle door.

Attaching the Backrest To attach the backrest to the base, place the base on a flat surface and align the back rest evenly with the base. 1 Fold the plastic tab on the backrest upward, align the backrest attachment axle with the axle guide on the base and slide the backrest attachment axle into position. (Fig. A) 2 Push the plastic tab under the seat cushion so that it rests on the plastic surface of the base. (Fig. B) 3 Swivel the backrest up until you hear a “click.
Adjustments Adjusting the Backrest Use the two-position recline flap to adjust the back angle of the booster seat. 1 Reclined Backrest Position: Pull out the recline flap and slide down until in reclined position. (Fig. A) 2 Recline the backrest until the recline flap lies flat along the back of the vehicle seat. (Fig. B) A B WARNING: Do not recline the backrest farther than the recline flap will allow. This could cause the backrest to become loose or unstable in the event of a crash.
Adjustments Adjusting the Width of the Base The base width can be adjusted for a proper fit, to improve side-impact protection and provide greater comfort. 1 Before placing child in seat, squeeze both adjustment levers while pulling arm rests apart to achieve the widest base position. (Fig. A) 2 Place child in the seat. Squeeze both adjustment levers to adjust the armrests and base width to the desired position. (Fig. B) A B Note: Armrests should fit snugly against child’s hips.
Using the Booster Seat Installation 1 Place booster seat in a vehicle seating position equipped with a lap-shoulder belt. Refer to page 7 to determine the best seating position for the child. 2 Position the booster seat with the back against the vehicle seat. Adjust recline, if necessary, for proper fit. (Fig. A) See page 11 for recline adjustments. If needed, adjust or remove the vehicle’s head rest to allow the backrest to fall flat against the vehicle’s seat back.
Using the Booster Seat Securing the Child 1 Thread the vehicle shoulder belt through the red belt guide on the head rest closest to the retractor. 2 Pull the vehicle belt across the child’s chest to the opposite lap-belt guide nearest the seat buckle. 3 Pull the lap-belt section under both arm rests and over the red belt guides so that the belt lays flat on the child’s lap. 4 Straps should be tight and not twisted.
Using the Booster Seat Using the Booster without a Backrest WARNING! • DO NOT use this booster seat without the backrest unless the booster seat will be properly installed in a vehicle seat with a headrest. • ONLY use this booster seat without the backrest if proper vehicle belt positioning can be achieved. Proper positioning is achieved when the vehicle belt’s shoulder section crosses the chest and center of the child’s collar bone.
Care and Maintenance Cover Removal Tip: Use a blunt wooden rod (pencil, chopstick, etc.) to assist with untucking the cover hooks from the shell. Before removing the cover, place booster seat on a level surface. Lift headrest to highest level, swivel backrest down and expand base to the widest position. 1 Removing Base Cover Locate the elastic loops at the back corners of the base. (Fig. A) A Arm Rest Unfasten elastic loops from plastic notches on each side of the base and slide the cover off.
Care and Maintenance Care and Maintenance Cleaning the Cover HAND WASH using cold water and mild soap. LINE DRY to prevent cover from shrinking. DO NOT bleach, machine wash or machine dry. Cleaning the Shell SPONGE CLEAN using warm water and mild soap. TOWEL DRY DO NOT use solvents, abrasive cleaners or disassemble booster in any way, except as instructed.
Warranty Information This booster seat was manufactured by Britax Child Safety, Inc. (“Britax”). Britax warrants this product to the original retail purchaser as follows: Limited One-Year Warranty This booster seat is warranted against defective materials or workmanship for one year from the date of original purchase. Proof of purchase is required.
