SAFETY RULES WARNING WARNING Running generator gives off carbon monoxide, an odorless, colorless, poison gas. Breathing carbon monoxide will cause nausea, fainting or death. Petrol and its vapors are extremely flammable and explosive. Fire or explosion can cause severe burns or death. • Operate generator ONLY outdoors. WHEN ADDING OR DRAINING PETROL • Turn generator OFF and let it cool at least 2 minutes before removing petrol cap. Loosen cap slowly to relieve pressure in tank.
SAFETY RULES CAUTION WARNING Excessively high operating speeds increase risk of injury and damage to generator. Excessively low speeds impose a heavy load. Rapid retraction of starter cord (kickback) will pull hand and arm toward engine faster than you can let go. Broken bones, fractures, bruises or sprains could result. • DO NOT tamper with governed speed. Generator supplies correct rated frequency and voltage when running at governed speed. • DO NOT modify generator in any way.

This unit may be equipped with a low oil protection device. See engine manual. CAUTION WARNING Exceeding generators wattage/amperage capacity can damage generator and/or electrical devices connected to it. Running engines produce heat.
OPERATING THE GENERATOR RECEPTACLES Figure 5 — 230 Volt AC, 20 Amp Receptacle 3-Wire Cord Set CAUTION Receptacles may be marked with rating value greater than generator output capacity. • NEVER attempt to power a device requiring more amperage than generator or receptacle can supply. • DO NOT overload the generator. See “Don’t Overload Generator”. 230V AC Voltmeter (Model 030213 Only) Use the voltmeter as a visual aid. It indicates AC voltage.
OPERATING THE GENERATOR DON'T OVERLOAD GENERATOR You must make sure your generator can supply enough rated (running) and surge (starting) watts for the items you will power at the same time. Follow these simple steps: Select the items you will power at the same time. 2. Total the rated (running) watts of these items. See Figure 6. 3.
