SAFETY RULES WARNING WARNING Running generator gives off carbon monoxide, an odorless, colorless, poison gas. Breathing carbon monoxide can cause nausea, fainting or death. Fuel and its vapors are extremely flammable and explosive. Fire or explosion can cause severe burns or death. • Operate generator ONLY outdoors. WHEN ADDING OR DRAINING FUEL • Turn generator OFF and let it cool at least 2 minutes before removing fuel cap. Loosen cap slowly to relieve pressure in tank.
SAFETY RULES CAUTION WARNING Excessively high operating speeds increase risk of injury and damage to generator. Excessively low speeds impose a heavy load. Running engines produce heat.Temperature of muffler and nearby areas can reach or exceed 150°F (65°C). Severe burns can occur on contact. Exhaust heat/gases can ignite combustibles, structures or damage fuel tank causing a fire. • DO NOT tamper with governed speed.

ASSEMBLY ASSEMBLY Attach Handle to Unit 1. Your generator requires some assembly and is ready for use after it has been properly serviced with the recommended oil and fuel. Place handle assembly onto handle supports connected to main unit. Make sure holes in handle align with holes on handle supports (Figure 1). ASSEMBLY BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE Add Fuel NOTE: This gasoline engine is certified to operate on gasoline. Exhaust Emission Control System: EM (Engine Modifications). Engine Oil WARNING This engine is shipped from the factory filled with the recommended oil (API SJ or higher SAE 30). Before starting the engine, check oil level and ensure that engine is serviced as described in the engine operator’s manual. Fuel and its vapors are extremely flammable and explosive.
OPERATION USING THE GENERATOR Generator Location Generator Clearance System Ground WARNING The generator has a system ground that connects the generator frame components to the ground terminals on the AC output receptacles.The system ground is connected to the AC neutral wire (the neutral is bonded to the generator frame). Exhaust heat/gases can ignite combustibles, structures or damage fuel tank causing a fire. • Keep at least 5 ft. (152 cm) clearance on all sides of generator including overhead.
OPERATION OPERATING THE GENERATOR 2B. For manual starting, insert ignition key in ignition switch on generator and turn to “Run” ( ) position. Follow start instructions given in engine operator’s manual. Starting the Engine IMPORTANT: When manually starting engine, initial starting attempt may require multiple pulls. WARNING IMPORTANT: Always unplug the battery float charger before starting the generator.
OPERATION Connecting Electrical Loads How to Use the Battery Charger • Let engine stabilize and warm up for a few minutes after starting. • Plug in and turn on the desired 120 and/or 240 Volt AC, single phase, 60 Hz electrical loads. • DO NOT connect 240 Volt loads to the 120 Volt receptacles. • DO NOT connect 3–phase loads to the generator. • DO NOT connect 50 Hz loads to the generator. • DO NOT OVERLOAD GENERATOR. See “Don’t Overload Generator”.
OPERATION RECEPTACLES This receptacle powers 120/240 Volt AC, 60 Hz, single phase loads requiring up to 2,900 watts of power at 24.1 Amps for 120 Volts; 5,800 watts of power (5.8 kW) at 24.1 Amps for 240 Volts.The outlet is protected by a 25 Amp rocker switch circuit breaker. CAUTION Receptacles may be marked with rating value greater than generator output capacity. • NEVER attempt to power a device requiring more amperage than generator or receptacle can supply. • DO NOT overload the generator.
OPERATION DON’T OVERLOAD GENERATOR 4. Plug in and turn on the next load. 5. Again, permit the generator to stabilize. 6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each additional load. NEVER add more loads than the generator capacity.Take special care to consider surge loads in generator capacity, as described above. Capacity You must make sure your generator can supply enough rated (running) and surge (starting) watts for the items you will power at the same time. Follow these simple steps: 1.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE Generator Maintenance • Use a vacuum cleaner to pick up loose dirt and debris. Generator maintenance consists of keeping the unit clean and dry. Operate and store the unit in a clean dry environment where it will not be exposed to excessive dust, dirt, moisture or any corrosive vapors. Cooling air slots in the generator must not become clogged with snow, leaves or any other foreign material. • Use low pressure air (not to exceed 25 psi) to blow away dirt.
TROUBLESHOOTING TROUBLESHOOTING Problem No AC output is available, but generator is running. Generator runs good at no-load but "bogs" down" when loads are connected. REGLAS DE SEGURIDAD ADVERTENCIA ADVERTENCIA Al generador funcionar, se produce monóxido de carbono, un gas inodoro y venenoso. El respirar el monóxido de carbono, producirá náusea, desmayo o la muerte. La combustible y sus vapores son extremadamente inflamables y explosivos. El fuego o una explosión pueden causar quemaduras severas e inclusive la muerte. • Opere el generador SOLAMENTE al aire libre.
REGLAS DE SEGURIDAD PRECAUCIÓN ADVERTENCIA Las velocidades de operación en exceso, aumentan los riesgos de heridas y daños al generador. Las velocidades bajan en exceso, imponen una carga muy pesada. Los motores al funcionar producen calor. La temperatura del silenciador y de las áreas cercanas puede alcanzar o pasar los 150ºF (65ºC). Quemaduras severas pueden ocurrir al hacer contacto.

MONTAJE MONTAJE Conecte el Manubrio Su generador requiere de ciertos procedimientos de montaje y solo estará listo para ser utilizado después de haberle suministrado servicio con el combustible y aceite recomendados. 1. Si usted tiene problemas con el montaje de su generador, por favor llame a la línea de ayuda para generadores al 1-800-743-4115. Si llamar para la ayuda, tiene por favor el modelo, la revisión y el número de serie de etiqueta de datos disponible.
MONTAJE ANTES DE DARLE ARRANQUE AL MOTOR 1. Utilice combustible normal sin plomo, limpia y nueva con un mínimo de 85 octanos. NO utilice combustible que contenga metanol ni mezcle aceite con combustible. 2. Limpie el área alrededor de la tapa de llenado del combustible, retire la tapa. 3. Agregue lentamente combustible regular "SIN PLOMO" al tanque de combustible. Use un embudo para evitar que se derrame.
OPERACIÓN USO DEL GENERADOR Ubicación del Generador Espacio Libre Alrededor del Generador Tierra del Sistema ADVERTENCIA El generador dispone de una conexión a tierra del sistema que conecta los componentes del bastidor a los terminales de tierra de los enchufes hembra de salida de CA. La tierra del sistema está conectada al cable de CA neutro que, a su vez, está conectado al bastidor del generador (vea “Descripión del Equipo”).
OPERACIÓN OPERANDO EL GENERADOR 2B. Para el arranque manual de la unidad, inserte la llave de ignición en el interruptor de ignición del generador y gírela hasta la posición “Run” (funcionamiento) ( ). Siga las instrucciones de arranque del manual del operario del motor. Encienda el Motor IMPORTANTE: Siempre desconecte el cargador de flotante de la batería antes de arrancar el generador. IMPORTANTE: Cuando se arranca manualmente el motor, puede ser necesario tirar varias veces al principio.

OPERACIÓN Este receptáculo le provee poder a cargas de 120/240 Voltios AC, de 60 Hz, fase sencilla, que requieren hasta 2,900 Voltios de energía a 24,1 Amperios, para 120 Voltios; 5,800 Voltios de energía (5,8 kW) a 24,1 Amperios para 240 Voltios. El enchufe está protegido por un disyuntor basculante de 25 A. RECEPTÁCULOS PRECAUCIÓN El valor nominal que se indica en los enchufes hembra puede ser superior a la capacidad de salida del generador.

MANTENIMIENTO Y ALMACENAMIENTO • Mantenimiento del Generador El mantenimiento del generador consiste en conservar la unidad limpia y seca. Opere y almacene la unidad en un ambiente limpio y seco donde no será expuesta al polvo, suciedad, humedad o vapores corrosivos. Las ranuras del aire de enfriamiento del generador no deben estar tapadas con nieve, hojas, o cualquier otro material extraños.
