voltagesurgesandbuiltupstaticcharges.Intheeventofashortcircuit,grounding
reducestheriskofelectricalshock.
ForinstallationsintheU.S.A.,ref ertoArticles810830oftheNationalElectricalCode,
ANSI/NFPANo.70,forinf ormationwithrespecttopropergroundingandapplicable
lightningprotectionforDC cables.
Forinstallationsinallothercountries,implementprotectioninaccordancewiththesafety
standardsandregulatoryrequirementsofthecountrywheretheequipmentistobe
installed.
· Donotinstalloroperatethisequipmentinthepresenceofflammablegasesorfumes.
Operationofanyelectricalinstrumentinsuchan environmentconstitutesadefinitesafety
hazard.
· Donotinstallsubstitutepartsorperformanyunauthorizedmodificationtotheequipment.
