2.6 Cabling
Theinstallationsiteshouldbeinspectedtodeterminetherunpathsforthefibercableandpower
cablefr omtheradioequipmenttothet erminationpoint.Locationsforroo fpenetr atio ns houldbe
identified.Theroutingandsecuringofallcablesshouldconformto allapplicablecodesand
requirements.Dependingonthelikelihoodofdamageduetofoottr afficorequipmentmovement,
cablingconduitmayberequired.Themaximumcablerunlengthasspecifiedfortheequipment
beinginstalledmustnotbeexceeded,refertoTable2.61and2.62 forcabletypesandlimitat ions.
TheradiorequiresLCtypeconnectorsonduplexmu ltimodefiberstoproperlyconnect betweenthe
radioandtheusersnetworkequipment.Singlemo defiberconnectionsarenotsupportedforuse
withthestandardproduct.Thenetworkequipmentendofthefibersshouldbeterminatedwith
connectorst hatmatchtheuser’snetworkequipmentfiberinterface.

Whenplanningthecablerunfromtheindo orACpoweradaptortotheradiounit,itisrequiredtouse
thecablegauge(AWG)indicatedbelow toensureadequatevoltageattheradio.Theindoorand
outdoorpo rtionsoftheDCpowercablingmustconformtoallrespectiveindoorandoutdoor
nationalandlo calelectricalandbuildingcodes;notethatrequirementsmaydifferfo rtheindoor and
outdoorpo rtionsofthecablingandthatagroundedsurgeprotectorisnormallyrequiredatthepoint
wherethecableenters thebuilding.TheDCpowercablingmustconsistoftwo12or14gauge
strandedconductorsbasedontherequiredcablerunlength.
