The BSP
™
31 Label Attachment System is designed to mechanically
fasten a B-482 tissue cassette label before the tissue fixation and
embedding process. This easy-to-use unit forms rivets on the label that
prevent the label from detaching from the cassette.
Simple 4-Step Process
The simple 4-step process for histology and anatomic pathaology labs to track their samples throughout the entire work flow:
STEP 1: PRINT TISSUE CASSETTE LABELS
Print crisp, legible labels for unique identification of the
tissue cassette.When tissue samples arrive in the lab, use
a Brady desktop (THT) label printer to create the tissue
cassette label. Then simply apply the label to the cassette
prior to grossing. Brady’s B-482 tissue cassette labels are
specifically designed to withstand tissue process solvents
without smearing or fading. The recommended Brady printer
for B-482 labels is the BBP
™
11 Label Printer (see page 165).
STEP 2: ATTACH LABELS TO THE CASSETTE

31 Label Attachment System (see below) will
mechanically fasten a B-482 label to the cassette through
a revolutionary heat staking process that permanently
bonds the two pieces together with moulded plastic
rivets. The recommended Brady printer for B-482 labels
is the BBP
™
11 Label Printer (see page 165).
STEP 3: PROCESS TISSUE SAMPLES
Pre-process labels remain durable through solvents and
paraffin. As the tissues go through the process protocols,
the labels will remain attached to the cassette throughout
the process - from fixation to embedding, sectioning and
long-term storage and retrieval. No need to re-identify,
the information on the cassette remains clear and crisp
- resulting in significantly less identification errors due to
illegibility.
STEP 4: PRINT SLIDE LABELS & TRACK SPECIMEN
Track the specimen at sectioning and match the information
and number of slides required. After the cassettes are
embedded, scan each tissue cassette label for its unique
identification information at the microtome or the defined
print station. Print the appropriate amount of slide labels with
the matching information, either manually or automatically
through a client, web or server-based software interface.
