Print Quality (continued)
Black line displays on first label
printed
When the cartridge is left in the
locked position (when not in use),
the print head is pressed against the
platen roller, causing a vertical
pressure point line (or residual burn
line) to appear on the tape.
Unlock the cartridge as soon as you
are done printing more labels. This
will prevent the warm print head
from burning the ink from the
ribbon onto the next label under the
print head.
Labels
Printer will not feed labels. The leading edge of the label roll is
uneven or torn (not a straight edge).
Use a pair of scissors to cut a
straight leading edge on the label
roll.
Compressed print, poor registration Dirty platen roller Make sure the last cut label has
been removed from the label tray.
Clean the platen roller. (See
page 68 for cleaning information.)
Error - "Insert labels" Damaged circuit board on label/
media roll.
1. Replace label/media roll.
2. Press [CLEAR/ESC] key to
clear error
Error - "Insert labels" Damaged contacts in receiver slot
of lower printer base.
