Our Hiring Process
Our hiring process is in place to ensure we continue hiring talented people who are aligned with
our values and fit with our culture. One of the ways we do this is by encouraging internal
applicants to apply for open positions and promoting from within when possible. When that’s
not possible, we hire new people who will make a positive contribution to our team. In either
case, we start with a values-aligned and consistent recruiting process. In order to help you
understand this process, below are the steps we undertake.
The hiring manager identifies a need for the position and the President approves it. No
recruitment starts without prior approval from the President.
The hiring manager creates the job posting and then posts the position internally.
If applicable, the hiring manager will then post the position externally.
If you’d like to apply as an internal applicant:
o Let your current manager know that you intend to apply for a different position. If you
prefer not to discuss this with your manager prior to applying, you can still apply. If
you’re interviewed and shortlisted, however, you or the hiring manager will need to
speak with your current manager at that time.
o Submit your resume in accordance with the instruction on the job posting.
Following receipt of resumes, we’ll schedule an interview for selected qualified internal
candidates.
If the position requires measurable skills, testing may be done; current employees who
currently successfully fulfill those skill requirements as part of their job are not expected to
undergo testing.
A final shortlist will be created and a final
interview may be conducted by the hiring
manager. Final hiring decisions are made by the
hiring manager and are based on experience, fit,
qualifications and references. Although we like to
hire internally where possible, we don’t give
preferential treatment to internal candidates over
other more qualified candidates.
