Use of mobile devices for company business
If you use your mobile device (including smartphones and tablet computers, whether your own
or provided by Bradley Smoker) to access Bradley Smoker networks, data and systems, you are
responsible for ensuring the confidentiality and security of all Bradley Smoker information and
must observe the following requirements and guidelines. This refers also to applications on
your own personal devices such as cloud storage or email applications.
If you choose to use a personal device for Bradley Smoker business, you agree that Bradley
Smoker may:
Access the business information at any time
Require you to turn over the work-related contents upon termination of employment
Remotely delete the information on the device in the event that it’s lost or stolen
Require that you comply with policy regarding the loading of applications that may be
subject to malware
Require any necessary security software or policy configurations, in addition to auditing
compliance to those configurations any time
In all cases, it’s critical that you password protect all mobile devices if you intend to use them
for company business.
Email and the use of TO versus CC
When emailing more than one person, the To field should be used for people that the message
directly affects, and that you require action from. If you’re expecting someone to do something,
they should be in the To field. Also, if they’re in the To field, include them in your email opener
so it’s clear that the message is to everyone (i.e. Hi Dean, Dave & Wade or Hi All, rather than
just Hi Dean).
Use the Cc field for people you want to know about the message but are not directly involved. It
should be for people who don’t need to act or reply to the message, but need to be informed.
You should not Cc if:
The email is critical and action is needed; in this case, if someone is included in this
email, it means they are responsible for that action and so should be in the To field
The email subject matter is a new topic, issue or to do
Either the body or attachment has confidential information; this includes all company
documents, policies, designs or material related to product development
Either the body or attachment has information involving a customer, employee or
vendor.
Social media and networking
Social networking or social media usage is limited to break times, so long as doing so doesn’t
violate any of our network-use policies or other company policies, and doesn’t interfere with the
work you’re being paid to do for Bradley Smoker.
