Service Procedure VI

Gas Control Testing and

Replacement

Simulated Resistive Device Testing

Step 1. Position the power switch on the gas

control to the “OFF” position.

Step 2. Disconnect flammable vapor sensor

or simulated resistive device from

the gas control (model dependant).

Step 3. Using a multi-meter set to the ohms

setting, check resistance of the

flammable vapor sensor or simulated

resistive device. Resistance must be

between 3,000 ohms and 48,000

ohms. If outside of this range,

replace the simulated resistive

device.

CAUTION

DO NOT use a standard multi-meter probe for this

test. Doing so will damage connector. Use

special pin type electronic probes or small

diameter wire pins inserted into connector.
