YourGasFireplacehasbeenapprovedfor:
a) Verticalinstallationsupto40ft.(12.19m)inheight.
b) Two sets of 45 degree elbow offsets within these vertical
installations.From0toamaximumof8ft.aventpipecanbe
usedbetweenelbows.See Figure 43.
c) Wall straps must be used to support offset pipe every 4 ft.
(1.22m).
Thisapplicationwillrequirethatyourstdeterminetheroofpitch
andusetheappropriateventingcomponents.

Installing the Vent System in a Chase
A chase is a vertical box-like structure built to enclose the gas
applianceand/oritsventsystem.Verticalventrunsontheoutsideof
abuildingmaybe,butarenotrequiredtobeinstalledinsideachase.
CAUTION: Treatment of restop spacers and construction of
thechase mayvarywiththetypeofbuilding.Theseinstructions
are not substitutes for the requirements of local building codes.
Therefore,yourlocalbuildingcodesmustbecheckedtodetermine
therequirementsforthesesteps.
NOTE:Wheninstallingthisventsysteminachase,itisalwaysgood
buildingpracticetoinsulate the chase as you would theoutside
wallsofyour home.Thisis especially important for coldclimate
installations. Upon completion of building your chase framing,
installtheventsystembyfollowingtheinstructionsinthismanual.
Remember to build the chase large enough so that minimum
clearanceofcombustiblematerials(includinginsulation)tothevent
systemaremaintained.
Reassembly and Resealing Vent Pipe System
Attachventpipetoinletandoutletventadaptoronreplace,replace
horizontalandverticalpipelengths,elbowsandhorizontalorvertical
terminationkit.
Allventsystemcomponentslockintoplacebyslidingtheconcentric
pipesectionwithfour(4)equallyspacedinteriorbeadsontothe
appliancecollar or previously installed component end with four
(4)equallyspacedindentedsections.Whentheinternalbeadsof
eachstartingouterpipelineup,rotatepipesectionclockwise90°
(approximately3inches).Theventpipeisnowlockedtogether.
Continuereplacingcomponentspertheventsystemconguration.
Becertainthateachsucceedingventcomponentissecurelytted
andlockedintotheprecedingcomponentintheventsystem.
