Quietness
Noise-reducing features inside and out work together to
reduce wind, road and powertrain noise. This is the quietest
Super Duty ever.

dash panel works with
extra sound padding in the dash and floor to provide a
foundation for the quiet cabin.
Durability
Ladder-type frame includes fully boxed front frame rails
with unique front frame horn design that lowers the frame
by 7 inches compared to the previous model. Robust outer
frame rails are connected to crossmembers that are riveted,
welded or both, for added strength and long-term durability.

Patented hydroformed steel front structure creates a strong
foundation for engine compartment components, eases
assembly and delivers a more dimensionally accurate truck.
Also helps reduce noise and vibration as well as improve fit
and finish.

V8 turbo diesel testing began with
gathering data from working Super Duty commercial
customers. The data was used to develop durability tests
more representative of real-life work cycles. The tests used
the most extreme and abusive conditions and ran to five
times the life cycle of the hardest-working truck. As a result,
more than 500 design changes were made to optimize
diesel performance and durability.
Reliability
Transmission fluid temperature gauge monitors the automatic
transmission for optimum operation levels and reliability, and
alerts the driver when the vehicle needs service (standard
with automatic transmissions).
Turbo-boost gauge lets the driver know the turbo-boost from
the diesel engine is within the proper levels.
Engine hour meter in the message center indicates the
number of hours the engine has been in operation. This is
an especially useful feature for proper vehicle maintenance.
Standard on all diesel-engine-equipped models.
Air filter minder warning light on instrument panel indicates
when the diesel air filter needs to be replaced for reliability
and ease of maintenance (Power Stroke-equipped vehicles).
