Powertrains
Triton gasoline engines provide the choice of a 5.4L 3V
SOHC V8 or a 6.8L 3V SOHC V10, mated to a standard
6-speed manual transmission.
Electronic Throttle Control uses electronic sensors to provide
smoother engine response.
6.4L Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel features a Dual
Sequential Turbo, which helps improve response throughout
the engine’s power band for better low-speed performance,
improved acceleration and power at altitude.
TorqShift 5-speed automatic transmission with Tow/Haul,
optional with all gasoline or diesel engines, maximizes
low-speed torque output and optimizes shifts for outstanding
performance.
Transmission Power Takeoff (PTO) Provision allows upfitters
to supply power to hydraulically driven accessories, such as
dump bodies, sprayers, pumps, etc.
Manual 4x4 system and Electronic Shift-on-the-fly 4x4
system provide enhanced traction for serious off-road
enthusiasts or off-road job sites.
Suspension and Chassis
Proven Twin I-Beam front suspension design is used on all
F-250/F-350 4x2 Super Duty pickups and combines the
strength of a solid I-Beam suspension with the flexibility and
comfort of a fully independent suspension.
Robust twin-coil monobeam front axle/suspension design
is used on all F-250/F-350 4x4 pickup models and helps
provide a smoother ride than a leaf-spring design and
tight turning diameters.
Leaf-spring rear suspension and staggered rear shock
absorbers help contribute to a smooth ride and confident
handling, loaded or unloaded.
Four-wheel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) delivers excellent
stopping power and long-lasting brake performance.
Heavy Service Suspension Package is available to equip
vehicles permanently utilizing aftermarket equipment such as
heavy-duty winches, brush guards or other equipment that
will load the front axle.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) alerts the driver to
significantly low tire inflation pressure using a warning light.
