F-250/F-350 SD Pickups
The following provides information on the new and important
features of the 2006 Super Duty pickup trucks. These changes
allow the 2006 model year trucks to continue setting the
standard for capability for both your personal and commercial
use customers.
Functional Changes
• The available 6.0L Power Stroke
®
V-8 Turbo Diesel engine
meets Clean Fuel Fleet Program (CFFP) requirements for
Federal Low Emissions Vehicle (LEV) certified vehicles. The
Clean Fuel Fleet LEV option is no longer required or
available
• 50-state emissions certification is now standard on
6.0L Power Stroke V-8 Turbo Diesel pickups
• The standard alternator output rating for diesel engines has
changed from 130 amps to 110 amps due to change in the
rating system; actual performance has not changed
• The standard alternator output rating for gas engines has
changed from 130 amps to 115 amps due to a change in
the rating system; actual performance has not changed
Exterior Changes
• King Ranch models now offer two new colors:
– Black Clearcoat/Arizona Beige
– True Blue Metallic Clearcoat/Arizona Beige
• F-350 models with XL trim now include standard 17-inch
painted wheels with 18-inch painted wheels optional
Model/Series Changes
• The equipment previously included in the Lariat Luxury
Package is now standard on the Lariat, including:
– Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC)
– Electrochromic rearview mirror
– Bronze-faced instrument cluster
– Enhanced message center with trip computer
– Redundant steering wheel audio and climate controls
– Woodgrain appliqué instrument panel insert
– Front floor console with woodgrain appliqué
• The Amarillo Package, available on Lariat Crew Cab,
includes the following features:
– Unique Blazing Yellow paint
– Unique chrome and body-color front bumper
– Chrome rear bumper
– Body-color door handles
– Body-color wheellip moldings
– Chrome mirror caps
– Chrome tow hooks
– Chrome exhaust tip
– Unique Amarillo 4x4 box decals
– 5-inch chrome tubular cab steps
– 18-inch forged, polished aluminum wheels (SRW only)
– LT275/70R18E OWL All-Terrain tires (SRW only)
– 17-inch forged aluminum wheels (DRW only)
– LT245/75R17E OWL All-Terrain tires (DRW only)
– Unique brushed aluminum door panels
– Captain’s Chairs with unique black leather seating
surfaces and Amarillo logo and rear bench seat
– Leather-wrapped front floor console lid with Amarillo badge
– Unique ebony accents (carpet/scuff plates/cowl trim)
– Unique instrument cluster with chrome accents
• The Chrome Package, available on XLT and Lariat SuperCab
and Crew Cab includes the following features:
– Unique all-chrome billet-style grille
– Chrome exhaust tip
– Chrome tow hooks
– Unique chrome mirror caps
– Chrome pickup bed tie-down hooks
– 5-inch chrome tubular step bars
– Requires Power Trailer Tow Mirrors
Option/Program Changes
• Options Added
– 20-inch polished, forged aluminum wheels available on
SRW Crew Cab 4x4 Lariat, Amarillo, and King Ranch
• Options Revised
– XLT Sport Package now includes body-color mirror caps
(F-250/F-350)
– XLT Sport Package 4x2 (F-350 SRW) requires
LT275/65R18E BSW All-Season tires
– 10,000-lb. GVWR Package is now available with
17-, 18- and 20-inch wheels (F-350 DRW)
• Options Deleted
– Fleet-only black tubular cab steps
– LT265/65R18E OWL All-Season tire
