Override Potentiometer
If
the IndraControl VCH 08.1 is equipped with an override potentiometer, this
is evaluated in the device via software and transmitted to the control as a 4 bit
Gray code via the real time protocol.
The override potentiometer is suitable for a variety of applications, for example,
in determining the spindle speed and feed at machine tools.
The application takes over the display of the set value.

Elektronic Hand Wheel
If the IndraControl VCH 08.1 is equipped with an electronic hand wheel, the
hand wheel pulses are evaluated in the processor and transmitted to the con‐
troller via the real time protocol as a 16 bit value transfer.
50 pulses are counted per revolution. Turning the hand wheel clockwise in‐
creases the counter value, turning it anti-clockwise decreases the counter value
(0 to 65535, 16 bit value).
The application takes over the display of the set value. The resetting of the set
values occurs via an operating element on the applicable application.

In the event that the hand-held terminal IndraControl VCH 08.1
should
fall on the floor, check the mechanical position of the turning
knob. The turning knob may be re-locked into position by applying
central pressure to it.

6.2.2 Contrast Setting
To
set the contrast you must set the "LcdContrast" system variable in a random
screen in the project planning software.
