The NSF Symbol Certified to ANSI/NSF 184 English A dishwasher and/or dishwasher cycle that has the NSF symbol has been certified by the National Sanitation Foundation to meet very strict requirements of time and temperature to ensure sanitization. These requirements are explained in ANSI/NSF 184, Residential Dishwashers. Certified residential dishwashers are not intended for licensed food establishments. Your Bosch dishwasher is NSF Certified.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 10. Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be produced in a hot water system that has not been used for two weeks or more. Hydrogen gas is explosive. If the hot water system has not been used for such a period, before using the dishwasher turn on all hot water faucets and let the water flow from each for several minutes. This will release any accumulated hydrogen gas. As the gas is flammable, do not smoke or use an open flame during this time. 11.

Some materials are not dishwasher safe and should be handwashed; others require special loading. Contact the material’s manufacturer if you are unsure about a material’s dishwasher suitability. English (Loading Your Dishwasher, continued) Figure 4/Ilus. 4 Silverware Baskets There are two types of silverware baskets available for Bosch dishwashers; 1) the Standard Silverware Basket, and 2) the Flexible Silverware Basket. The Standard Silverware Basket This basket fits in the front-middle of the lower rack, as shown in Figure 4. The Flexible Silverware Basket This basket is designed for maximum versatility.

Loading the Upper Rack Glasses, cups, plates, bowls, and small pots may be loaded in many different positions. Figure 8 shows a typical mixed load in the upper rack. Figure 9 shows the top rack load pattern for 10 place settings, and Figure 10 shows load pattern for 12 place settings. The upper rack height of many models of Bosch dishwashers is adjustable.

If your dishwasher has lower rack flip tines, fold them down to accommodate large utensils such as serving spoons and large knives. Loading the Silverware Baskets Both types of Bosch silverware baskets have tops that can be folded up to accomodate large or oddly-shaped items. However, your silverware will receive a more thorough cleaning if you load the silverware baskets with the tops down and use a load pattern similar to the one suggested by Figure 18.

Here are some general guidelines that will help you select the proper wash cycle for the best cleaning. HOWEVER, YOU COULD BE SERIOUSLY SCALDED IF YOU OPEN THE DISHWASHER DOOR QUICKLY DURING A WASH OR RINSE CYCLE. ALWAYS WAIT AT LEAST 10 SECONDS (OR UNTIL WATER NOISES STOP) BEFORE FULLY OPENING THE DISHWASHER DOOR. Once you start the dishwasher, leave the dishwasher door shut until it finishes the cycle.

English 5. Drying Your Dishes Condensation Drying After your dishwasher has washed and rinsed your dishes, a period of condensation drying will follow. The combination of a high final rinse temperature, the tub’s cool stainless steel interior, and the sheeting action of a rinse agent results in effective and efficient drying. Depending upon the model dishwasher you have, after about 12 minutes of drying the “Clean” light will be illuminated. You may then unload your dishwasher. 6.

English (Care and Cleaning, continued) Winterizing Your Bosch Dishwasher If your Bosch dishwasher is installed in location that experiences freezing temperatures (e.g., in a holiday home), you must drain all the water from the dishwasher’s interior. Turn off the water supply, disconnect the drain hose, and allow your dishwasher to completely drain into a bucket or other appropriate receptacle. Check/Clean the Large Object Trap Figure 27/Ilus.

English (Care and Cleaning, Continued) Clean the Exterior Door Panel Colored Doors: Use only a soft cloth that is lightly dampened with soapy water. Do not use paper towels or abrasive cloths. Stainless Steel doors: Use a soft cloth with a non-abrasive cleaner (preferably a liquid spray) made for stainless steel. For the best results, apply the stainless steel cleaner to the cloth, then wipe the surface.
