About This Manual How This Manual Is Organized This manual contains several sections: • • • • • The Safety section describes important procedures that can ensure your safety while using the appliance. The Getting Started section describes the features and functionality of the appliance, including a description of how to set it up and operate it. The Operation section describes how to operate and get the best performance out of each component.
2) Before servicing or cleaning the unit, switch power off at service panel and lock service panel. This will prevent power from being switched on accidentally. Getting Started Before You Begin The blower should be turned on for about five minutes before cooking in order to establish air currents upward through the hood. Thus when heat, smoke, moisture, grease and cooking odors are produced, they will be carried outside instead of drifting into other rooms. Use the low speeds for normal use and the higher speeds for strong odors or fumes. A Note about Drafts: Drafts across the range or cooktop will reduce the effectiveness of the hood.
Cleaning and Maintenance Care and Cleaning Cleaning WARNING: Be sure the entire hood (including the filters and light bulbs) has cooled and grease has solidified before attempting to clean any part of the appliance. DO NOT use the following! • • • Hood Surface Filters Abrasive Pads such as those made from steel wool SOS, Brillo or plastic mesh. Abrasive cleaners such as Comet, Ajax and Zud. Flammable products such as gasoline or kerosene.
Remove the filter for cleaning: push the handle in and pull down. The front will come out first. Then pull the back down and out. Figure 2: Filter To replace the filters: insert the back ends first, then while holding the handles, push in and up until the filters are secured in place. Carbon Filter A carbon filter is used only with a recirculation unit. It is in addition to the aluminum filter explained previously. Carbon filters are disposable; They cannot be cleaned or reused.
Remove the filter for replacement: Remove the aluminum filter and set aside. Then remove the carbon filter. Push in on the latch in the front of the carbon filter. Pull down and out. Holding the latch in, push front up into place. Release latch.
Service Self Help Troubleshooting Use these suggestions before calling for service to avoid service charges. When calling service, please have your serial number and model number ready. Utiliser les vitesses basses pour utilisation normale et élevées pour les odeurs et la fumée intenses. Remarque sur les courants d’air : les courants d’air au-dessus de l’appareil de cuisson réduiront l’efficacité de la hotte. Les éviter autant que possible. La meilleure ventilation dans la cuisine est celle où les courants d’air sont créés par la hotte.
Nettoyage AVERTISSEMENT : s’assurer que toute la hotte (incluant filtres et ampoules) a suffisamment refroidie et que la graisse ait figée avant de nettoyer l’appareil. NE PAS utiliser ce qui suit ! • • • Surface de la hotte Filtres Tampons abrasifs tels tampons en laine d’acier SOS, Brillo ou en plastique. Nettoyants abrasifs tels Comet, Ajax et Zud. Produits inflammables tels essence ou kérosène. Surface en acier inoxydable : nettoyer et assécher l’acier inoxydable dans le sens du grain.
Figure 2: filtres Pour remettre les filtres : insérer d'abord les extrémités arrière, puis tout en tenant les poignées, pousser vers l'intérieur et le haut jusqu'à ce que les filtres soient bien en place. Filtre au charbon Un filtre au charbon est utilisé seulement avec l’appareil de recirculation. Il est en plus du filtre aluminium susmentionné. Les filtres au charbon sont jetables ; ils ne peuvent être nettoyés ni réutilisés.
ATTENTION : FERMER L’ALIMENTATION AU COUPE-CIRCUIT AVANT DE RETIRER UNE AMPOULE ENDOMMAGÉE. NE PAS TOUCHER AUX AMPOULES APRÈS UTILISATION, ELLES RESTENT CHAUDES QUELQUES MINUTES ENCORE. Remplacement des ampoules Remarque : NE PAS toucher à une nouvelle ampoule halogène avec les doigts. Saisir avec un essuie-tout propre ou un mouchoir. L’huile des mains peut réduire la durée de vie de l’ampoule. Utiliser un petit tournevis à lame plate (ou l’ongle) pour enlever la lentille.

1. Utilice esta unidad sólo en la manera intencionada por el fabricante. Si tiene alguna pregunta, póngase en contacto con el fabricante 2. Antes de dar servicio o limpiar la unidad, apague la corriente en el panel de servicio y bloquee el panel de servicio. Esto evitará que se prenda la corriente accidentalmente. Cuando no se puede bloquear el panel de servicio, coloque un dispositivo bien visible de ADVERTENCIA, tal como un letrero, al panel de servicio.
Comenzar Antes de comenzar Se debe prender el ventilador 5 minutos antes de cocinar para establecer las corrientes ascendentes de aire por la campana. Esto garantiza que al producirse calor, humo, humedad, grasa u olores de cocinar, éstos sean transportados hacia afuera en lugar de desplazarse a las otras habitaciones. Use las velocidades bajas para el uso normal y las velocidades más altas para fuertes olores u humos.
Limpieza y mantenimiento Cuidado y limpieza Limpieza ADVERTENCIA: Asegúrese que se haya enfriado toda la campana (incluyendo los filtros y los focos) y que se haya solidificado la grasa antes de intentar de limpiar alguna parte del aparato. NO USE lo siguiente! • • • Superficie de la campana Filtros Esponjillas abrasivas tal como las que son hechas de fibra metálica SOS, Brillo o de una malla de plástico. Detergentes y limpiadores abrasivos como Comet, Ajax y Zud.
Figura 2: Filtro Para reemplazar los filtros: primero inserte los extremos traseros, luego sosteniendo las agarraderas, empuje hacia adentro y arriba hasta que los filtros queden en su lugar. Filtro de carbón Se usa un filtro de carbón solamente con una unidad de recirculación. Se usa adicionalmente al filtro de aluminio explicado previamente. Los filtros de carbón son desechables. No se pueden limpiar o volver a usar.
Instalar el repuesto del filtro: Inserte las ranuras en los orificios en la pared trasera de la campana. Presionando el sujetador hacia adentro, empuje el frente hacia arriba hasta que entre en su lugar. Suelte el sujetador. Botones Limpie con agua jabonosa o detergentes caseros como Fantastic o Formula 409, enjuague bien y seque con un trapo limpio para evitar machas de agua.
Servicio Autoayuda Resolver problemas Use estas sugerencias antes de solicitar servicio para evitar cargos innecesarios. Cuando llame para solicitar servicio, por favor tenga a la mano su número de serie y modelo.
