Guarantee
We guarantee Bosch appliances in accordance with
statutory/country-specific regulations (proof of pur-
chase by invoice or delivery note).
Damage attributable to normal wear and tear, over-
load or improper handling will be excluded from the
guarantee.
In case of complaint please send the hedgetrimmer,
undismantled, to your dealer or the Bosch Service
Centre for electric power tools.
Environmental Protection
The hedgetrimmer minimizes environ-
mental impact because it runs at a very
low noise level.
The hedgetrimmer has been assembled
in an environmentally responsible way.
Recycle raw materials instead of dis-
posing as waste.
The hedgetrimmer, accessories and
packaging should be sorted for environ-
ment-friendly recycling.
These instructions are printed on recy-
cled paper manufactured without chlo-
rine.
The plastic components are labelled for
categorized recycling.
Do not open battery.
Do not dispose of used
battery with household
waste or throw into fire or
water.
Dispose of battery through the recognised
recycling facility in accordance with Regu-
lation 91/157/EEC. (Please contact your
local authority for details.)
If leakage occurs, dispose of the battery by recycling.
The battery must be removed from the product before
it is scrapped.
Questions and Answers
Batteries
Nickel-cadmium accus are reputed to have a so-
called memory effect. Is this true?
Yes. However, this effect is more or less pronounced
depending on the type of accu in question. Accus for
BOSCH power tools have hardly any memory effect
and it has little to no practical consequences.
Does this have an effect on power tool perform-
ance?
The memory effect does not affect power tool perform-
ance since the slightly lower battery voltage is accom-
panied by only a small reduction in speed which means
that work can continue as usual. What’s more, the ef-
fect can be reversed by completely charging and dis-
charging the accu several times which restores the
previous power pack capacity.
Accus that have not been used for quite a while
tend to lose their capacity. What is the reason for
this?
Physical and chemical processes during accu storage
lower its potential, or, using the analogy with sports,
accus suffer the same fate as athletes who neglect train-
ing.
Chargers
Does fast charging harm the accu?
No. Fast charging with charging times of one hour or
less does not harm our NiCd-accus. BOSCH fast charg-
ers substantially improve the capacity and the service
life of accus in comparison with conventional chargers
due to their gentle charging technique and the reliable
recognition of charge completion.
Can accus be left in the accu-charger overnight, i.e.
on trickle charge?
In automatic accu-chargers: Yes. It is even recom-
mended to do this from time to time in order to equalise
tolerances between the individual accu cells.
Is it all right to leave the accu in the connected
charger for weeks on end?
You can do this, although this would mean a substan-
tial waste of energy, and the constant over temperature
tends to reduce the service life of the accu.
Why should a cold accu not be fast charged?
The cold changes the chemical processes in the accu.
The minimum temperature for charging is around 10°C.
This is taken into account in automatic fast chargers.
