36 AMP PLASMA CUTTER
Plasma cutters are fast, clean, and can cut intricate patterns that torches
cannot and, there is little de-burring required. They swiftly cut steel, carbon
steel, and aluminum. It uses shop air (only3.5cfm at 65 PSI) and no special
gases are required.
Science lesson: If you boost a gas to extremely high temperatures, you
get plasma. The energy begins to break apart the gas molecules, and atoms
begin to split. In plasma, the electrons separate from the nucleus. Then the
electrons are negatively charged, and leave behind their positively charged
nuclei. These positively charged nuclei are known as ions. When the fast-
moving electrons collide with other electrons and ions, they release vast
amounts of energy. This energy is what gives plasma its unique status and
unbelievable cutting power.
