Valve Clearance Adjustment
INTAKE / EXHAUST VALVE CLEARANCE
1. Remove the cylinder head cover to expose the intake and
exhaust rocker arms.
Compression / Leakdown Test
IMPORTANT: Use of a compression tester adaptor
that is too long WILL CAUSE DAMAGE to the cylinder
head. The adaptor length should be no longer than
the length of the spark plug threads 19mm.
2. Remove spark plug and rotate engine to TDC on the
compression stroke.
3. Insert a 0.1 mm feeler gauge between end of intake valve
stem and adjuster screw.
4. If adjustment is required, loosen the locknut and turn
adjuster until the proper clearance is obtained.
Cylinder Compression
Standard: 13~15 kg/cm2 (185 - 215 psi)
Cylinder Leakage
Service Limit: 10%
Inspect if leakage exceeds 10%
5. When clearance is correct, hold adjuster screw and tighten
locknut securely.
