System information
Automatic provisioning 465
Provisioning files The IP Phones receive provisioning files from the
TFTP server. The IP Phone supports only a single provisioning server to
provide the .prv files.
The provisioning server (TFTP server) contains the following provisioning
files:
• SYSTEM provisioning file–provides provisioning information to all IP
Phones that support the automatic provisioning feature.
• ZONE provisioning file– provides provisioning information to IP Phones
that belong to a unique defined zone or group.
• TYPE provisioning file–provides provisioning information to particular
IP Phone types.
• DEVICE provisioning file– specifies device-specific provisioning
information and to provide unique an individual end-user or specific IP
Phone with unique provisioning information.
The provisioning file contains the Provisioning Info Block only. The IP
Phone continues to use the TYPE.cfg file for obtaining firmware and font
file updates.
The provisioning file is a text-based file, which contains parameters that
require configuration. See Table 113 "Provisioning info block format" (page
465) for syntax, parameters, and values.
