If the signal quality is poor or if you are too far from the terminal, the Bookeen Diva e-reader may
lose connection. An alert window will open and detect networks to allow you to choose a new one.
If you notice too many time-out messages during your browsing, we suggest you get closer to
your terminal or choose a new terminal.
9.4 Free connection to Wi-Fi hotspots
The page where you have to enable Wi-Fi automatically pops up as soon as the e-reader connects
to a network. If required, you will be asked for a username and password. Once you enter your
username and password, your e-reader will connect to the Internet.
9.5 Updates and downloads
If new downloads or software are available, a window will pop up right after connecting to Wi-Fi to
inform you that a new download is available. Of course, you may choose not to download this new
data to your device. However, the question will be repeated the next time you connect.
The update process is automatic and will take less than a minute. A message will pop up on your
screen to notify you when the update is ready to install. Once you accept the update, the device
will delay its response until you are sent back to the Home Page, i.e., after updating. During the
process, an automatic sequence will bring up several messages to inform you of the update in
progress and when it's done.
9.6 Turning off Wi-Fi
If you want to turn off Wi-Fi, press the main menu button and select “Settings”. When the menu
pops up, press “Wi-Fi” and then the “Enable Wi-Fi button to disable it, and the different Wi-Fi
networks will disappear. When the e-reader is in standby mode, Wi-Fi is automatically disabled.
