Sanding
siafast Delta Sheets are designed for abrading Bonaseal® sealer to eliminate grain raise. Delta
Sheets are used attached to Bona® Conditioning Pads as shown in the photo above. The unique
“delta” shape and nature of the abrasive compound provide superior
performance with a minimum
of loading.
Eliminates grain raise when used to smooth Bonaseal

Superior non
-
loading characteristics and contoured delta shape means increased production
capacity per sheet.
Easy to use! Just press into position. No bolts, sc
rews or ties. No cutting or measuring.

Removes raised wood fiber and ridges that create a rough surface.
Intercoat abrasion of solvent
-
based sealers and finishes when more aggressive abrading is
required than the Conditioning Pad can provide alone
.
1
.
It is recommended that 2 Delta Sheets be
placed on the buffer’s drive Pad (Bona
®
Conditioning
Pad) arranged according to the
illustration on the front of this sheet. This provides
optimum cutting
at a faster walking spe
ed.
2
.
When operating a buffer with the Pad and Delta
Sheets it is important to walk and move the
machine quickly along the floor. When abrading,
heat resulting from moving too slowly may cause
the sealer to “gum” and collect too quickly on the
Sheets or
the Pad. (Screens or other stiff
abrasives
generate too much heat and work poorly for this
purpose.)
3
.
Check the Delta Sheets and Pad frequently,
perhaps every 50 square feet or so, for residue
build
-
up. If they are allowed to collect cut residue,
floor s
urface scratches may result. If cut residue
is
loading on the Sheets or Pad, it can be removed
by tapping or scraping the surfaces with a piece
of cardboard or a plastic scraper.
4
.
It is very important to overlap buffing lanes
completely, making sure the abrasion pattern is
uniform. This is especially true when changing
Delta Sheets or Pads or turning the Pads over to
the clean side. (Uneven abrasion technique may
result in an uneven look when the finish is
applied.)
NOTE: Bona
®
Conditioning Pads are appr
oximately
3/8” thick when new and compress
when
used. They provide very aggressive abrading when
used to drive a screen on raw wood.
However,
when used for intercoat conditioning of
Bonaseal
®
, consider using two Conditioning
Pads,
sandwiched together, to d
rive the Delta Sheets.
This provides additional cushioning and
allows
more air to flow through the Pads, which helps to
reduce heat buildup and keeps the loading
of the
Pad and Delta Sheets to a minimum.
5.
Have several Pads available when doing larger
jo
bs. It is more convenient to change Pads on
the
buffer every three or four hundred feet, and then
vacuum them all at one time at the end of the
buffing
procedure.
