12.1.4 ADD TOOL
ADD TOOL is used to add a new tool to the ATC. The ADD TOOL prompt is invoked
when you assign a new tool from you program to the ATC in tool management mode. To
add a tool to the ATC, highlight the tool you want to add with the blue cursor box and
press ADD TOOL. If the tool loading table shows a remove tool box for the same tool
location, then you will have to remove the tool first before adding the new tool. A
message box will appear on the screen when the add button is pressed. Open the door
and load the tool in the spindle using the green button on the head. Once the tool is
placed in the spindle you must close the door and press GO to initiate the tool change.
12.1.5 CALL TOOL
CALL TOOL is used to call a tool from the ATC to the spindle. To use CALL TOOL
you need to move the blue cursor box down to ATC location that you would like to call.
If you call a tool and a different tool is already in the spindle, the control will put the tool
in the spindle back into the ATC before getting the new tool. Close the door and then
press GO to initiate the tool change.
12.1.6 RETURN TOOL
RETURN TOOL is used to return a tool from the spindle to the ATC. To use RETURN
TOOL you do not need to move the blue cursor box down to the tool that you would like
to call, it will return whatever tool is in the spindle back to the ATC, no matter where you
are in the tool loading table. Close the door and then press GO to initiate the tool change.
12.1.7 RESET ATC
In the event that the ATC would ever get stuck in the middle of a tool change, this feature
can be used to guide you to safely recover. It will prompt you for what condition the
ATC is currently in, and offer some options in order to either remove the tool that is
currently in the spindle, or place it back into the carousel.
12.2 Checklist
The Checklist is used to walk the user through all 12 steps required to run a program.
The bottom 7 items on the list must be done before you can run a program. The top 5 do
not need to be done, but we recommend you check them prior to running. Note that the
first item on the list only applies when a Master program is loaded. Otherwise it will
simply say Not Applicable.
