Manual Optical Slave Modes S1/S2

In S2 mode, the slave will ignore any pre-ash and will re on the second burst of light.

Note: Pre-ash is used to help the camera meter and/or focus.

To use the VC-310C as a manual optical slave, follow these steps:

1. In Manual mode, press and hold the Mode button until the ash control [

] indicator appears on the LCD.

2. Press the right arrow repeatedly until [S1] or [S2] shows up on the display. Press the Set button to conrm.

3. Press the Set button to highlight the output level.

4. Press the left and right arrows to adjust the output level from 1/1 to 1/128.

5. Press the Set button to conrm.

Note: Some cameras, when set to red-eye reduction, will emit a series of quick ashes lasting a second or

more. This may not work properly with any slave mode. We suggest you avoid using red-eye reduction when the

VC-310C acts as a slave.
