To assemble the MCDMOD Speaker onto the MCD1X2/2X2UGRILLE, position the MCDMOD Speaker over

the portion of the Grille with the perforated speaker holes. On the MCDMOD there are two Tabs and a Module Clip.

The MCD1X2/2X2UGRILLE has two horizontal Grille Slots located on one side of the grille edge. Install the

MCDMOD Speaker on a slight angle and slide the Module Tabs into the Grille Slots . These Tabs should go

through completely so the MCDMOD is right up against grille edge. Then lower the MCDMOD down onto the

grille surface, and while doing this the Module Clip should clamp down onto the grille edge , securing the

MCDMOD flat and flush on to the MCD1X2/2X2UGRILLE.

Plenum-Rated and Listed to UL Standard 1480 for U.S. only.

Both models listed to UL standard 1480 for the US, and 60065 for the US and Canada.

The speaker shall be a Bogen Model MCD1X2U or MCD2X2U

Modular Drop-in Ceiling Speaker, which shall consist of a speaker mod-

ule

and a 1’ x 2’ or 2’ x 2’ grille, which are easy to assemble and

install in suspended ceiling grids. The speaker module (Model MCD-

MOD) is fully enclosed, and contains a 4.5” dual radiator speaker

cone. The 1’ x 2’ grille (Model MCD1X2UGRILLE) and the 2’ x 2’

grille (Model MCD2X2UGRILLE) shall be constructed of industrial

grade steel.

Frequency response shall be 160 Hz to 10.5 kHz. Input sensitivity

shall be 85 dB @ 1W/1m. The speaker module shall have a black fin-

ish. The speaker grille shall have a non-reflective, bright white finish

on metal. It shall have 3 integrated seismic attachment points.

Dispersion shall be 120 degrees.

Assembly shall be made by snapping the speaker module into place

on the ceiling grille. Wire connections are made to the speaker

module via wire nuts, and can be connected either before or after

placement in the ceiling.

The speaker assembly shall fit into 2’ x 2’ and 2’ x 4’ ceiling grids.

A tile support rail shall be included for use with the MCD1X2UGRILLE

in either 2’ x 2’ or 2’ x 4’ ceiling grids and with the MCD2X2UGRILLE

in 2’ x 4’ ceiling grids. When using the MCD1X2UGRILLE in 1’ x 2’

ceilings or the MCD2X2UGRILLE in 2’ x 2’ ceilings, the

shall not be required and no cuts to the ceiling shall be necessary.

The speaker module shall measure 5-3/4” W x 3-12” H x 6-3/4” D and

shall weigh 2.5 pounds. The 1’ x 2’ grille shall measure 11-7/8” W x

5/8” H x 23-3/4” D and shall weigh 2.5 pounds. The 2’ x 2’ grille shall

measure 23-3/4” W x 5/8” H x 23-3/4” D and shall weigh 4.5 pounds.
