Welcome to BODUM ® We congratulate you on your purchase of the SANTOS 3004 coffee maker. With this machine you will be able to make aromatic coffee. The "Santos" cof fee maker enables the rapid brewing of superb cof fee. With the special process developed by BODUM ®, the cof fee retains its full aroma – a fact that cof fee connoisseurs are bound to appreciate. OPERATING PRINCIPLE The water is heated in the jug. The steam generated forces the water through the riser tube and into the funnel.
5 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS WHAT YOU MUST NOT DO: Do not allow children to operate the unit without supervision. Children do not recognize hazards. Operate the unit with BODUM ® original par ts only. BODUM® declines any liability or guarantee if the unit is fitted with any other par ts. The power base and par ts of the jug become ver y hot during operation! Lift the jug only by the handle; do not touch hot sur faces! Do not place the unit or par ts near a stove or oven or in a microwave oven.
CLEANING Remove the cover from the funnel and discard the cof fee grounds. 10. Place the desired amount of ground coffee in the funnel. We recommend one BODUM® scoop (7g/0.25 oz) per BODUM® coffee cup (1.25 dl/4 oz). 11. Place the cover on the funnel. 12. Press the switch marked “ON” at the side of the machine. The switch will light up to show that the machine is switched on. Caution: The unit will become hot and steam may escape from the openings in the cover. Remove the filter from the funnel.
9 LIME REMOVAL Cof fee has a slightly descaling ef fect. If lime deposits are only slight, it is suf ficient to leave a little cof fee in the jug after each brewing cycle over a period of 2 – 3 days. To descale we recommend the use of ordinar y commercial descalers. For the regular removal of scale and discolouring from the jug we recommend using BODUM ® cleaner and descaler. 1. Dissolve contents of BODUM ® cleaner and descaler package in 4 cups warm water. 2. Turn machine on and begin the brew cycle.
