THE SCIENCE BEHIND EYE REFRESH WARMING THERMOTHERAPY TREATMENT COOLING CRYOTHERAPY TREATMENT Thermotherapy is the application of heat to the skin. Used as part of a facial treatment regime, the warming action relaxes the skin and opens pores for maximum absorption of active skin care ingredients into the dermal layer, while stimulating an inflow of nutrients and oxygen into the skin. The warm treatment also has a relaxing and soothing effect.
PATCH TEST CHARGING THE UNIT 1. Plug the power adapter cable into the base of unit. Then, plug into a wall socket. The unit can be placed in the stand for charging. GETTING STARTED MODE LIGHTS MODE LIGHTS Flashing blue light: The unit is running. Plugged in with no light: Battery charging is complete. ✓ ✓ Unplugged with no light: Unit is off. The Dezac Group Ltd 2013 Constant blue light: Eye Refresh is ready to use. Note: It takes approximately 60 seconds for the treatment head to reach temperature. HOW TO HOLD THE UNIT Do not cover the vents when holding the unit. ✗ Flashing red light: Low battery - please charge. Fig 1.
SWITCHING ON 1. Press and hold the power button to turn the unit on. Note: The unit should be fully charged before use. 4. Choose your treatment (see pages 20-27). Important: Both sides work at the same time. The thermotherapy side warms up and the cryotherapy side remains cool. The unit will take approximately 60 seconds to reach optimum temperature. This will however, depend on the ambient room temperature. Note: The unit will automatically turn off after 12 minutes. The Dezac Group Ltd 2013 2.
THE TREATMENT AREA Touch the outer corner of your eye with your index finger and you should feel the bone around your eye. The treatment area (as illustrated opposite) follows the bone up above the brow line and down under the eye towards the tear duct.
TREATMENT TECHNIQUES There are three treatment techniques: Technique Description The Dezac Group Ltd 2013 Gentle Press Gently press onto skin and hold in position for a count of three, then move to the next area. Micro Pat Gently press onto skin and hold in position for a count of one. Briefly and repeatedly pat the skin while moving across the treatment area. TONE AND REFRESH TREATMENT Skin is left toned and awakened. Technique: Micro-pat Treatment time: 3 minutes 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 again on the next area of skin. 1. Hold for a count of one. 5. Work around the eye following the upper cheek bone and above the eyebrow.
ANTI-AGEING TREATMENT The ultimate anti-ageing eye treatment. Technique: Gentle Press Treatment time: 3 minutes 1. Starting from the inside bottom corner of the eye, gently press the warm side onto the skin. Hold for 3 seconds and move along to the next area of skin. Work around the eye following the upper cheek bone and above the eyebrow. 4. Turn the unit over and gently press the cool side onto the skin. Hold for 3 seconds to lock in the active ingredients before moving onto the next area of skin.
QUICK PRE-MAKE UP PEP UP TREATMENT Awaken the eyes for a refreshed wide awake look before a big event. 4. Repeat on the other eye. Technique: Micro-pat Treatment time: 1 minute 1. Apply Eye Contour Serum around the eyes with fingertips using a light tapping motion. Do not rub into the skin. The Dezac Group Ltd 2013 5. Pat in any Eye Contour Serum residue. Apply make up as usual. 2. Starting from the inside bottom corner of the eye gently place the cool side onto the skin, holding for the count of one.
CLEANING YOUR EYE REFRESH DO’S AND DON’TS ✓ ✓ 1. Turn off the unit. ✓ ✓ ✗ Always keep the unit moving - do not stay in one area for more than 5 seconds. The fan noise may come and go. This is normal. The fan works as a cooling mechanism for the unit only when required. Both treatment sides will operate at all times, it is not possible to activate just one side.
