TMC traffic information TP function
Traffic Message Channel
The RDS-TMC digital traffic message
channel is a joint European develop-
ment.
This system introduces an entirely new
level of quality to traffic situation re-
ports. They
d are always highly topical, thanks to
automatic traffic data recording and
data transmission
d can be selected according to specific
criteria (e.g. congestion, road works)
d are regularly updated and transmitted
without interrupting the radio station.
If the TP function has been activated,
Traffic Programme transmitters are au-
tomatically chosen in a specific order:
d If you are listening to a station with
traffic reports, these will be used.
d If your chosen station has no traffic
reports, but belongs to
a group of stations which does pro-
vide them, they will be taken from
one of the related stations in this
group.
If the group of stations from which you
are receiving a station has no traffic re-
port facility, the reports will be obtained
from another station with the strongest
signal.
