Auxiliary fuel-burning heater/independent ventilation control
For your own safety please comply with
the instructions regarding the auxiliary
fuel-burning heater or independent ven-
tilation control in the car's Operating In-
structions. The instructions below refer
only to operation by way of the on-
board monitor.

Direct operation
1 For independent ventilation control,
always leave the ignition key in posi-
tion 1.
For the auxiliary heater, ignition key
position 2 is also possible, in order to
boost heating output when the en-
gine is cold.
2 Select "Aux. heat/vent" in the general
menu.
3 To switch on, select "Aux. heating" or
"Aux. ventilation".
The green rectangle beside the se-
lected function lights up and the red
fan symbol in the screen surround
flashes.
The auxiliary heater/ventilation control
shuts down after 30 minutes.
To switch off beforehand:
d Repeat steps 2 and 3.
Alternatively:
Press until the red fan symbol on the
screen surround goes out.
Pre-selection
You can set two switching-on times for
the auxiliary heating/independent venti-
lation control.
1 Make sure that the clock is in opera-
tion and the ignition key is in
position 1.
2 Select "Aux. heat/vent".
3 Select "Timer 1" (or, for the second
time, "Timer 2").
4 Select "set".
5 Enter the desired time:
The green rectangle next to the se-
lected time and the red fan symbol on
the screen surround come on.
The heater/ventilation will only be
switched on within the next 24 hours.
After this, the time must be confirmed
again.
