Spring preload adjustment might
not suffice if the motorcycle is
very heavily loaded. Headlight
beam throw can be adjusted so
as not to dazzle oncoming traffic.
This adjustment should be car-
ried out by a specialist workshop,
preferably an authorised BMW
Motorrad dealer.

b Shortens beam throw
Seat
Removing seat
Make sure the ground is level
and firm and place the motor-
cycle on its stand.
Open seat lock 1 with the igni-
tion key.
Remove cover 2.
Pull up release lever 3 and lift
the seat at the rear.
Let go the release lever and
work the seat to the rear to
remove.
