19. IMPORTANT DO’S & DON’TS
DO’s:
1. Be aware and make note of the lter pressure when the CottonTails
TM
are clean. Remove and clean
the CottonTails
TM
when they appear dirty or the water ow from the pool’s return tting seems low.
2. Protect the tank’s internal plumbing while cleaning the CottonTails
TM
.
3. Follow these cleaning instructions:
Drain the water from the lter tank, remove the tank lid from the tank while leaving the hoses
attached to the lid
Empty the CottonTail
TM
balls onto a smooth surface such as a plastic tarp.
Rinse excess dirt and debris from the CottonTails
TM
.
If still dirty, place the rinsed balls into a mesh laundry bag and wash in your washer.
Return the cleaned CottonTails
TM
to the lter tank. It is okay if they are wet or dry.
Reassemble the lter tank lid and resume ltering the pool water.
DON’TS:
1. Over clean the CottonTails
TM
. This lter media operates more efciently during mid-cycle when the
balls are a little dirty. Too much cleaning will reduce the efciency.
2. Let the lter system run dry (without water). If your pump runs dry too long, non-warranty damage
may occur. If there is damage due to dry running, the product warranty will be voided.
