• Installers are responsible for the following requirements during pool installation:
a) Installers must follow written instructions regarding positioning of all equipment connected
to the circulation systems. All of these components must be positioned to prevent access to the
pool by young children. (See the latest published edition of ANSI/APSP-8 Model Barrier Code for
Residential Swimming Pools, Spas, and Hot Tubs.)
b) The installer must follow written instruction provided for operation of the circulation system
components.
c) The installer must afx safety signs above the water line according to the manufacturer’s
instructions.
d) There must not be any protrusions or other obstructions in the swimming area that may cause
entrapment or entanglement of the user.
e) The ladder must be located on a solid base and installed per the manufacturer’s instructions.
f) The installer must follow regulations on setback, barriers, devices, and other conditions.
g) The installer must ensure that all pools and their related components that are installed in an
indoor environment shall comply with the ventilation requirements of ANSI/ASHRAE 62.
h) Installers must locate the pool in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
