Instructions before attempting to install or operate this equipment.

2. Many Blue Ox

baseplates are designed to

use existing holes and hardware to mount the

baseplate to the towed vehicle. Even though

bolts are there, do not assume they are adequate

for baseplate mounting. Always use hardware

supplied in the hardware kit and existing hardware

specied in the Baseplate Installation Instructions.

Conrm the towability and pre-towing

procedures for your vehicle with the

owner’s manual or contact the vehicle’s

manufacturer for specic towing

procedures.

BX2622 2011-13 Ford Fiesta Installation Instructions  Attachment Tabs: Due to the design of the removable tabs, the RangeFinder II, Acclaim and Ambassador tow bars can not be used. Adapters, except the BX8833 and BX88151, can not be used with this baseplate. Instructions Notes: The headlights, fascia and windshield washer reservoir are removed and reinstalled during baseplate installation. Trimming is required. Drilling is required.

BX2622 2011-13 Ford Fiesta Installation Instructions    3 4A 4B 3. Just forward of the front tire up on top, use an 8MM socket to remove the metric bolt. Do this to both sides of the vehicle. Set the bolts aside to be reinstalled later. 4. Along the bottom edge of the fascia, use a 5.5MM socket to remove the three (3) bolts. One (1) per side (4B) and one (1) in the middle (4A). Set bolts aside to be reinstalled later.    6  5 5.

BX2622 2011-13 Ford Fiesta Installation Instructions    8 9  8. On driver’s side, disconnect two (2) clips on the coolant line closest to frame. Pull the coolant line over to clear the area for baseplate installation. 9. On the driver’s side using a 10MM socket, remove two (2) metric bolts from the reservoir. Set bolts aside to be reinstalled later. 10    10. Disconnect and plug the windshield washer reservoir hoses.

BX2622 2011-13 Ford Fiesta Installation Instructions   12 13 12. Using a 1-1/4” hole saw, drill a hole in the top of the bumper extension. Do this to both sides of vehicle. 13. Remove the temperature sensor from the bottom of the bumper on the driver’s side. It will be relocated later.    14 15 14. Slide the baseplate on. Be sure the baseplate is level with respect to the vehicle frame and clamp.

BX2622 2011-13 Ford Fiesta Installation Instructions     16 17 16. Using the support plate as a template, drill three (3) holes into the frame rail with a 13/32” drill bit. Do this to both sides of the vehicle. 17. Insert 3/8”-16 nut plates through the frame rail opening and align with the three (3) drilled holes. Insert 3/8”-16 x 2” hex bolts and 3/8” lock washers and tighten with Loctite Red. Do this to both sides of the vehicle.    19 18 18.

Align the fascia to its original position and, using a hack saw blade, trim necessary openings in the grille for the attachment tabs and convenience links. The tabs may have to be bent for the license plate. 22. Reinstall the headlights, fascia, and washer reservoir inserting all push pins, screws, and bolts. The installation of the baseplate is now complete.
