15. Using the 12MM socket, remove the four metric bolts from the bumper. Do this on both sides of the bumper.
Set bumper and bolts aside. It will be reinstalled with the styrofoam.
16. Using the 1 1/4” hole saw, drill a hole in the lower frame rail end next to the radiator using the small hole as a
center point. Do this on both sides of the vehicle in order to insert 3/8” nut plates. An additional hole may be
required directly underneath.

When using power drills, be aware of the
dangers of torque and drill bit length.

17. Slide the baseplate up onto the frame rail. The back of the large rectangular cutout should be ush with the
front of the frame rails. Be sure the baseplate is level with respect to the vehicle frame and clamp with the
large vise grip. Remember to use Loctite Red on all the bolts. Do this to both sides of the vehicle.

RED ON ALL
BOLTS BEFORE TIGHTENING. TIGHTEN ALL
BOLTS ACCORDING TO THE TORQUE CHART
ON THE FRONT PAGE OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS
OR ON PAGE 3 OF THE BASEPLATE TOWING
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS.
Baseplate painted yellow for illustration.
Actual baseplate will be powder-coated black.
