6. While using the baseplate as a template, drill
the two holes located inside of the baseplate
closest to the radiator. Drill with a 17/32” drill
bit. Do this to both sides. Install a 1/2 x 1 1/2”
hex bolt and 1/2” lock washer to each of the
drilled holes into nut plate.
4. Install the baseplate by rst installing 1/2 x
1 1/2” lock washer with nut plate in rst hole
that lines up with existing hole. If hole in frame
end is not quite big enough to install nut plate,
use hammer to widen opening. Do this to both
sides.
3. Place a piece of cardboard over radiator to
keep from bending ns. While using a 15MM
socket, remove three bolts behind tow hooks
(inset circle). Remove tow hooks. Do to both
sides. Tow hooks will not be reinstalled.
5. Using a 17/32” drill bit, drill the last hole on the
end of the baseplate. Put nut plate in end of
frame rail to align with drilled holes. Install nut
plates and lock washers. Do this to both sides.
BE SURE TO USE LOCTITE
®
RED ON ALL BOLTS
BEFORE TIGHTENING. TIGHTEN ALL BOLTS
ACCORDING TO THE TORQUE CHART ON THE
FRONT PAGE OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS OR ON
PAGE 3 OF THE BASEPLATE TOWING GENERAL
