SW
is only utilized by the boot loader during a software update.
As long as you do not activate the boot loader (see software update
)
this file can remain stored without affecting normal operation.
If you accidentally activate the boot loader, the (same) interface
software will be reloaded. Other than the time required to perform this
operation there are no other disadvantages.

A06 Q
How can I reactivate my "seized up / crashed"
interface?
0
A
Due to the large number of devices (radios / RNS, BT mobile phones,
USB storage media) that can be connected to one another, it is not
possible to avoid incompatibilities completely. As a makeshift remedy,
you can always switch off the radio and switch it on again after a
minute. The interface will then restart from scratch. Check which steps
might have led to the (supposed) error and avoid performing these
steps in future.

A07 Q
During MP3 playback, why do I sometimes not hear
any music for one second from the interface?
0
A
It is possible that during this time the interface is performing an internal
restart after the SW detected a state that it could not remedy using
other means. When communications problems are detected (for
example, induced by frequent changes of state (BT connected / not
connected / connected / ...) in conjunction with other almost
simultaneous events (e.g. PTT pressed, USB connected /
disconnected, ...)) this extra built-in security monitor triggers a restart
to ensure the interface always operates reliably for you.
Besides the brief pause, this does not result in any damage to the
interface, radio or other connected devices.
