How long does it take to establish a connection?
A
After you have paired your mobile phone with the interface once (see
operating instructions), subsequent connections will take place
automatically (as long as no more than 4 other mobile phones have
been paired).
Automatic connection usually takes place within 10 seconds
(depending on the model of mobile phone) as long as the previous
connection was ended correctly by the appropriate BT functions.
If the connection was ended because the mobile phone was moved
outside the transmission field or the car ignition was switched off or on,
you will additionally have to wait for the mobile phone timeout to
elapse (approx. another 25 - 35 seconds).

What are the differences in the Bluetooth wireless
connection between hands-free operation and audio
streaming?
A
Both connections use different profiles of the standardized BT
protocol. The high-quality stereo audio streaming in accordance with
the AAD profile occupies a greater bandwidth in the BT wireless
connection than the hands-free connection that is adapted to speech
quality and that complies with the HF profile.
This means that an audio streaming connection can have a shorter
range and altered propagation conditions compared to the hands-free
connection.

How can I deactivate an active Tel. Mute?
A
If your car radio is unexpectedly in "PHONE" mode (active Tel. Mute),
you can cancel this by keeping the PTT button pressed down for 2
seconds. This will likewise end a currently connected phone call.

How can I check whether my mobile phone is
connected to the interface?
A
You can use various criteria to check for yourself whether your mobile
phone is connected to the BT USB IF:
After the connection is established the notification text CONNECT
<BT name of your mobile phone> appears on the radio's display
(*TXT).
Try redialing the last dialed number and then cancel the operation
in time.
o Briefly press PTT -> PHONEBK
o Briefly press PTT -> Redial last phone no.
The NO TEL display is then shown
-> end with long press of PTT button or timeout
-> mobile phone & IF NOT CONNECTED
Tel. Mute activated, dial the last tel. no.
