Startup
This
chapter
contains
information
about
switching
the
device
on
and
off,
adjusting
the
volume,
performing
menu
settings,
and
resetting
the
device
to
the
factory
settings.
It
also
provides
information
about
connect-
ing
a
USB
medium
and
correctly
inserting
a
CD
in
the
device.
Switching
the
device
on/off
The
device
is
switched
on
or
off
with
the
ig-
nition.
The
introductory
animation
starts
and
can
be
cancelled
with
the
OK
button
(:D.
The
device
plays
the
audio
source
you
previously
listened
to.
To
manually
switch
on
the
device,

press
the
On/Off
button
0.
To
switch
off
the
device,
....
press
and
hold
the
On/Off
button
0
for
approx.
2
seconds.
Note:
To
protect
the
vehicle
battery
if
the
igni-
tion
is
switched
off,
the
device
automati-
cally
switches
off
after
one
hour.

Excessive
volume
can
damage

hear-
ing
and
you
may
fail
to
hear
acoustic
warn-
ing
signals!
Startup
•
The
devices
mutes
itself
while
it
changes
the
CD
in
the
CD
changer
or
the
audio
source.
During
this
mute
phase,
the
vol-
ume
may
be
changed,
but
it
is
not
audi-
ble.
Do
not
increase
the
volume
during
a
mute
phase.

Always
set
the
device
to
a
moderate
volume.

used
for
all
audio
sources.

The
volume

also
be
changed
during
a
phone
call/navigation
announcement
using
the
volume
