Using the illumination dial
If used on a rie without iC function, the
illumination can be switched on and o and
the brightness can be changed using the
illumination dial (Fig.15). The illumination is
switched on by pulling out the illumination
dial.
Turn the dial clockwise until it stops to
increase the brightness, turn it counter-
clockwise to reduce the brightness. Switch
movements up or down increase or reduce
the light intensity of the reticle illumination
incrementally. Holding the dial up or down
at the stop increases or reduces the light
intensity continuously up to the maximum
or minimum setting. On reaching the maxi-
mum brightness the illuminated dot ashes
three times briey, to indicate the highest
illumination level.
Magnication-dependent illuminated
dot (IVD)
Blaser riescopes have intelligent illumina-
tion technology (IVD, Intelligent Variable Dot),
in which the characteristic of the illumination
adjusts to the hunting situation, depending
on the selected magnication.
In the 1-7x28 iC, at a magnication of less
than 4.5x, a second larger dot with a sub
tension of 10 cm / 100 m switches on, if
one of the higher lighting intensity levels has
been selected.
Low magnication (1x) with switched on larger illuminated
dot and high magnication (7x) with very ne illuminated
dot (schematic diagram)
Models 2.8-20x50 iC and 4-20x58 iC have
a very ne illuminated dot. Here the illu-
mination brightness increases additionally
for even better target acquisition at higher
intensity levels and magication settings
below 4.5x.
