5.1. Uncocking the locks
DANGER:
Danger of confusion between snap caps and live
cartridges! Ensure that the muzzle always points
in a direction in which no person or object is en-
dangered.
Use snap caps to uncock the locks.
f First, unload the firearm, see section 3.2..
f Hold the barrel pointing downwards.
f Insert the snap caps into the cartridge
chambers.
f Fold up the rear stock.
f Using your index finger, check to make sure
the locking lever is closed.
f Operate the trigger twice.
f The locks are uncocked.
5.2. Steel shot cartridges
DANGER:
Damage to the barrels due to incorrect or miss-
ing interchangeable chokes! When using steel
shot, or tungsten, tungsten/iron or molyshot,
do not use interchangeable chokes sized 3/4
(IM), 1/1 (F) or 5/4 (EF). Only shoot with the inter-
changeable chokes installed.
The F16 shotgun has a steel shot proofmark and
is suitable for steel shot.
5.3. Interchangeable chokes
Interchangeable chokes are screwed into the
muzzles to affect the shot pattern on your F16
shotgun. Blaser Jagdwaffen GmbH offers various
interchangeable chokes for sport shooters and
hunters.

Interchangeable chokes for the F16 shotgun:
Note: Steel shot has a significantly lower spread than lead shot.
Effect of the interchangeable chokes when using steel or lead shot:
f Skeet (SK) with lead shot corresponds to 1/4 (IC) with steel shot.
f 1/4 (IC) with lead shot corresponds to 1/2 (M) with steel shot.
f 1/2 (M) with lead shot corresponds to 1/1 (F) with steel shot.
Changing the choke
DANGER:
Before changing the choke, make the firearm
safe and unload it. Only change the interchange-
able chokes with the firearm open.
DANGER:
Damage to the interchangeable chokes by in-
correct handling! Ensure that the thread of the
interchangeable choke is clean and lightly oiled.
Only use the choke wrench to change the choke.
f Insert the pins on the choke wrench into the
grooves on the interchangeable choke.
f Unscrew the choke counter-clockwise.
f Before inserting a new choke, clean the thread
in the barrel and on the choke.
f Screw in the choke clockwise to the stop.
